The managing director of local information technology service provider, Aspirence I.T has raised serious concerns about the Federal Governments $1.9 billion broadband plan and the ramifications for regional businesses. The plan announced by Prime Minister John Howard and Communications Minister Helen Coonan gives the Optus and Elders consortium the go ahead to roll out a combination of fibre optic ADSL2+ solutions and wireless broadband platforms to rural and regional areas.
